Che Guevara died 40 years ago today - October 9, 1967, although his corpse was hidden for 30 years, by those who killed him. He remains today a symbol of rebellion, revolution, rejection of the status quo, especially the image that was made famous on t-shirts. Alberto Korda took the iconic photo - you know the one, mustache, beret, single star - and chose not to copyright it. That, in effect, made the photo available for t-shirt artists and others to use the picture (as long, Korda said, as it is used respectfully, to commemorate and remember Che). I've always wanted a Che t-shirt, maybe now is the time to get one. I mean, at this point in time, it's more art than revolution, more historical artifact than call to rebellion. Here are a few that I've found on the web. Click the image to go to the site where you too can purchase a Che tee.
