SUPER BOWL 48 IS ALMOST UPON US!

Who are you rooting for?  The Seattle Seahawks, young, hungry, upstarts with an almost rookie quarterback and the best secondary in the league?  Or the Denver Broncos, led by one of the legends of the game, Peyton Manning? Does a brilliant offense outweigh an amazing defense?  Or does a stellar defense stop an awesome offense?  We'll find out on Sunday.

Super Bowl XLVII turned out to be quite an event in New Orleans, a city that knows how to throw a party. The Baltimore Ravens, led by quarterback Joe Flacco, held on in dramatic fashion to beat Colin Kaepernick's 49-ers, in a real nailbiter.

But there were two other stars on this night, and they were Beyonce and the lights. That's right. The lights went out for half an hour, just after halftime. There was a slightly bizarre feel to the moment, since briefly no one had any idea what was going on. Twitter went nuts with jokes, conspiracy theories, God theories, terrorist theories, and retweets of the now famous "Oreo tweet" "Power out? No problem," the tweet read, along with a hastily put-together image of an ad showing an Oreo and the brilliant tag line, "You can still dunk in the dark." The tweet caught fire, and as of this writing had been retweeted 13,734 times. Credit:OREO All in all it was a great night for the NFL, for fans, for football. New Orleans, the Super Bowl and Who Dat T shirts

I don't know anyone outside of Indianapolis proper who doesn't want the New Orleans Saints to win the Super Bowl this year. Peyton Manning may look formidable to some, but to the Who Dat Nation, he's just another obstacle in what they see as their guerdon.

I don't personally have a dog in this race, but my head says Colts while my heart says Saints. With the WHO DAT t-shirt controversy behind us, we can all safely buy our Who Dat? Saints gear without fear of the NFL knocking on our door to confiscate it.
