Binders Full of Women T-shirts and Binders

During the second Presidential debate, Mitt Romney claimed that when he was Governor of Massachusetts, he wondered if he couldn't find more qualified women for his staff.

BINDERS FULL OF WOMEN T-SHIRT Quote: "And I – and I went to my staff, and I said, 'How come all the people for these jobs are – are all men?' They said, "Well, these are the people that have the qualifications.' "

Romney said he requested "a concerted effort to go out and find women who had backgrounds that could be qualified to become members of our cabinet."

"I went to a number of women's groups and said, 'Can you help us find folks,' and they brought us whole binders full of women," Romney said.

According to CNN, "Before the debate was over, there was a Twitter hashtag, a blog, a series of memes, and a Facebook page with over 100,000 fans. The phrase was the third-fastest rising search on Google during the debate." (source: CNN)

SAVE BIG BIRD! Tshirts

Uho, Mitt Romney admitted last night that he'd happily fire Big Bird if he became president. Remember, this is the guy who "likes to fire people" and also, apparently, birds. And cookie monsters. And puppets. We say - SAVE Big Bird, and vote for Obama! Big Bird for President 2012 T-shirt Romney the Grouch Tshirt Save Big Bird Tshirts

Tshirts for the 47%

Mitt Romney was caught on tape saying that 47 percent of Americans who had no federal income tax liability would “vote for the president no matter what.” He says he doesn't care about them ("my job is not to worry about them"), and obviously as President he wouldn't represent them. This is pretty appalling by any standards, but the worst of it is the cynicism of the comments. Basically, he was telling a room full of rich people (they paid up to $50,000 and more to attend this event) that he would be THEIR president, and ONLY their president. Disgusting.

So here come the 47% tshirts, and they're pretty awesome! I'll add more as they show up on the internet.

Mitt Romney: the EtchaSketch Candidate

First, the news story:

‘Etch a Sketch’ comment creates new doubts about Romney

March 22 (Bloomberg) -- As he moves closer to clinching the Republican nomination, frontrunner Mitt Romney is facing fresh doubts about his commitment to core party principles after a top aide’s televised gaffe amplified critics’ charges that he is a political shape-shifter.
The former Massachusetts governor is within reach of securing his party’s nod -- well ahead of his rivals in convention delegates, polls and campaign cash after his latest win in the Illinois primary. Still, he was thrown on the defensive yesterday when a longtime adviser compared his campaign to an Etch a Sketch, a toy that can be shaken to erase what is marked on its surface.
The issue arose when the aide, Eric Fehrnstrom, was asked on CNN whether he is concerned that Romney might be forced by his Republican opponents to take extreme positions during the primary that could alienate moderates in a race against President Barack Obama.
“I think you hit a reset button for the fall campaign,” Fehrnstrom said. “Everything changes. It’s almost like an Etch A Sketch. You can kind of shake it up, and we start all over again.” (source: Washington Post)
