Doctor Who is 50 years old, and more popular than ever! That's right, the well loved BBC geek-fi show is turning 50 with a global event like the world's never seen. "The Day of the Doctor" happens on November 23, 2013, and has been described by series producer Marcus Wilson as a "love letter to the fans" and by the controller of BBC One, Danny Cohen, as an "event drama". The event will be shown in several countries. The special will also be shown concurrently in 3D at cinemas across the world.

David Tennant, Billie Piper, John Hurt, Joanna Page, Jemma Redgrave, Matt Smith, various Zygons and Galeks, and possibly some surprises, will star. It was filmed in 3D, in England, and is billed as the worlds biggest drama simulcast.
