It's April Fools day! And while it's too late to order these t-shirts to wear on April 1, we thought this would be the perfect day to showcase some of the funniest t-shirts we've seen this year!
From the Wall Street Journal Blog How fast are Americans when it comes to making a quick buck? Just hours after Joe Biden let loose with an f-bomb that was caught by an open microphone following President Barack Obama’s signing of the health bill into law this morning, his exact exclamation — “This is a big f— deal” — has already become a t-shirt (caution, salty language ahead if you click on the link) available for sale in sizes running from S to 6X. It’s unlikely there will be profit-sharing for Biden. Then again, there probably won’t be political fallout for the Vice President, either. Biden is so gaffe prone that he can basically say whatever he wants at this point and, like a crotchety old relative at a family gathering, people chuckle and chalk it up to Joe being Joe — and make a t-shirt. OK OK I confess. I couldn't care less about "March Madness". To me, college basketball is a farce, because it's really a farm program for the Bigs. It's all about big money, big publicity, bigtime gambling. It SHOULD be about college sports, but it's not. But enough of that, because there are millions who DO care. So, here's a link to a printable bracket - it's kind of awesome just as a piece of graphic art!
And I read somewhere (yes I'm shamelessly cribbing from someone else!) that the final four is likely to be Duke, Kentucky, Syracuse and Kansas. I don't have a preference, but Duke's sweatshirts are a gorgeous shade of blue:
But let's hope they don't play Kentucky, since theirs are a nearly identical shade:
And Kansas, who I would have guessed would choose a nice shade of wheat, ALSO has medium royal blue. What a mess! Kansas sweatshirt link
At least Syracuse wears an awesome shade of bright orange:
The World Wildlife Fund asks us all to turn out our lights for one hour (from 8:30 - 9:30 PM local time) on March 27, as a call to action on climate change. While mostly a symbolic gesture, the larger message is one of awareness of the need to do something NOW about global warming. Learn more about Earth Hour here, at the official website for the WWF. I can't see anywhere that Betty will be hosting Saturday Night Live, but only that she'll appear on some kind of special episode. So apparently no one knows what to expect. Betty White Is Back—Set to Appear on SNL On Sunday night, the former "Golden Girl" confirmed to People that she will appear on "Saturday Night Live" in the near future. Apparently, since her comedic role in a Snickers ad during the Super Bowl, fans have been urging her to take her turn. In fact, one fan even went so far as to set up a Facebook page promoting the cause, which has attracted near half a million fans. According to CNN.com, "Entertainment Weekly said she might appear on a special "Women of Comedy" episode with former "SNL" cast members Molly Shannon, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler." But White hasn't confirmed details, and reports to People that she's not quite sure what to expect. Read more... We love Betty White! She's so much more than just a former "Golden Girl". Her story goes way back to the 1940s and 50s. According to Wikipedia, she had a radio show in 1949! But we all know her best for her roles on the Mary Tyler Moore Show, as the Happy Homemaker, Sueann Nivens. Man, was she hysterical on that show! And as the dimwitted but loveable Rose Nylund on "The Golden Girls" she's unforgettable!
March 14 is Pi Day. Get it? 3.14 = 3/14 = March 14. Pi Day! It's a day for math geeks, math teachers, and pi (pie?) lovers to celebrate PI! Here's what Wikipedia says about Pi Day. I offer this because I can't understand a word of it!!:
"Pi Day and Pi Approximation Day are two holidays held to celebrate the mathematical constant π (pi) (in the mm/dd date notation: 3/14); since 3, 1 and 4 are the first three digits of π. Pi Approximation Day is observed on July 22, because of Archimedes' popular approximation of π being 22/7. However, this may be considered misleading, as all cited dates are "approximation days" (as π is an irrational number) and 22/7 is actually a closer approximation of π than 3.14. Typically, March 14 is more popular for countries using the month/day format (22/7 being an impossible date in this format), and the 22nd of July is more popular for countries using the day/month format (since 3/14 and 31/4 are impossible dates in this format)."
