The Rally to Restore Sanity
Jon Stewart fans embrace his 'Rally to Restore Sanity' to send a serious political messageJon Stewart insists that he's not looking to get into politics. But plenty of his fans appear eager to join him in a political movement, if the response to his "Rally to Restore Sanity" is any indication. By Thursday morning, more than 138,000 people had indicated on the event's Facebook page that they planned to join "The Daily Show" host Oct. 30 on the National Mall. Those who can't make it are organizing satellite events in cities around the country.

Sanity - What a Concept! T-shirts, Caps, Sweats by Scarebaby
As a Times story on Thursday details, many attendees view the gathering as an opportunity to shape the political discourse. "We want to send a message to Washington that there are a lot of us out here that want you to get something done and stop pandering to the fringe," said Lorrie Sparrow, 45, a business analyst who plans to drive all night from Xenia, Ohio, to attend the event with two friends and her 8-year-old son.
[Updated at 9:35 a.m.: Los Angeles residents are now seeking to create their own "Rally to Restore Sanity" satellite event for Oct. 30. Volunteers are working to secure a permits and a website has been set up to solicit donations.]

Christine O'Donnell: Witchy Woman!
Christine O'Donnell Stirs Interest in Witchcraft
Not so, according to Christine O'Donnell, the newly elected Delaware GOP senatorial candidate, whose surprise tea party victory last week earned her enormous financial support, a devoted national following and intense media scrutiny.
Much has been made of her sensational 1999 comment as a guest on Bill Maher's "Politically Incorrect," in which she said that she "dabbled into witchcraft" as a teenager but "never joined a coven," but did enjoy a "midnight picnic on a satanic altar" on a date. Link...
But what's really fun is the O'Donnell t-shirts out there on the web!

Buckyballs Tshirts and Stuff
Did you notice the front page of Google today? It has a rotating buckyball in place of the second O. So what's a buckyball? According to the website erictric.com it's "a spherical fullerene, which is a molecular compound made up entirely of carbon [C60]. As you might have guessed, the first buckyball — or more appropriately named buckminsterfullerene — was discovered on September 4, 1985 by Harold Kroto, James Heath, Sean O’Brien, Robert Curl and Richard Smalley at Rice University in Houston, Texas.
The buckminsterfullerene was named after Richard Buckminster “Bucky” Fuller, who was an architect and designer, whose geodesic domes and spheres the buckyball resembles."
