Buckyballs Tshirts and Stuff

Did you notice the front page of Google today? It has a rotating buckyball in place of the second O. So what's a buckyball? According to the website erictric.com it's "a spherical fullerene, which is a molecular compound made up entirely of carbon [C60]. As you might have guessed, the first buckyball — or more appropriately named buckminsterfullerene — was discovered on September 4, 1985 by Harold Kroto, James Heath, Sean O’Brien, Robert Curl and Richard Smalley at Rice University in Houston, Texas.
The buckminsterfullerene was named after Richard Buckminster “Bucky” Fuller, who was an architect and designer, whose geodesic domes and spheres the buckyball resembles."
