The Queen of England's Diamond Jubilee Memorabilia

Everyone's cashing in on Queen Elizabeth's 60th year on the throne, the Diamond Jubilee of 2012. Even Prince Charles has launched a line of commemorative gifts - ranging from a stuffed corgi($94)and a mohair teddy bear ($275) to a God Save the Queen cushion ($101) - through his Highgrove website, all profits from which go to charity. Party Pieces, the online party shop owned by Kate Middleton's parents, is taking a more festive approach, with cheap paper plates,
napkins, plastic beer cups,
capes, caps, decorations, you name it, they have it. In addition, you can find a myriad of commemorative t-shirts and gifts online. Here are a few, from Royal Gifts and a few other Zazzle shops:

Happy Norwegian Constitution Day!

Today, May 17, is Norwegian Constitution Day, or Norway's Independence Day. It's a

happy day for Norwegians, the day the Constitution of Norway was signed at Eidsvoll on May 17 in 1814. The constitution declared Norway to be an independent nation (independent from Sweden). If you live (as I do) in a community or city with a large Norwegian population, chances are there will be a children's parade and other festivities. And if you have Norwegian heritage, as more than 4.5 million Americans do, then you have the right to celebrate this day, too! Wear a Norwegian flag tshirt or other apparel in the traditional colors of the country (red, white and blue). In my neighborhood, festivites include a lutefisk eating contest, street dancing in traditional dress, and a herring toss. Gifts for Teachers and Teacher Appreciation

When I was a kid, the last day of school was just an hour or so, where we got our final report cards, cleaned out our desks, and then went home to start vacation. What a great day that was! Spring was in the air, and summer was a promise just around the corner.

Nowadays, I imagine it's pretty much the same with one difference. Kids are expected these days to give teacher a gift. With that in mind, the Today show and I are suggesting tote bags for teachers. They show you care about the environment, they say that you know teachers carry a heavy load, and they're functional in many ways. Here are some cute ones for language teachers (French teachers, Spanish teachers, German teachers, Norwegian teachers): And here are a few from Zazzle that are great looking and functional:
