Oh, no, this is awful! But I have to say it's wonderful to see all the people out there on the beach trying to save these magnificent animals. I hope the few that were actually saved find their way back out to sea.
Rescued Aus Whales May Be Beached AgainEleven stranded whales who were returned to sea by rescuers in Australia are trying to return to shore. The long-finned whales are thought to be disoriented as they keep trying to swim back to the spot where they beached earlier this week.
"They're meandering around at the moment," Department of Environment and Conservation officer, Laura Sinclair, said. "It's not an unusual situation but we're just trying to guide them out further. If one strands itself again, it could put out distress signals to bring them all back."
